This summer has been truly inspiring for me — a mix of global tech insights and reconnecting with the fast-growing innovation scene in Kazakhstan.

Cloud summits in Hong Kong

I had the chance to join both AWS Summit and Google Cloud Summit in Hong Kong. The level of insights, innovations, and product roadmaps from these tech giants was astonishing. The scale at which cloud, AI, and data solutions are evolving shows how fast the future is arriving — and how important it is to stay plugged into the ecosystem.

Kazakhstan’s IT ecosystem

During my time in Kazakhstan, I visited Astana Hub and was lucky to attend AIPreneurs event. There I met inspiring founders: Nazerke Zhanatova and Vladislav Khorev, co-founders of TabiLens; my close friend Ivan Kononov and his co-founders Genady Zaharov, Dmitriy and Margarita Ermachenkova of Botable.dev; Liza Morozova, founder of SolidRock AI; Adilzhan Rymbayev and Nurseiit Karimolla from Paidax.

It was equally impressive to see international investors such as Yellow Rocks! with Sergei Bogdanov PhD and Sergey Sukhikh from Трамплин Венчурс actively engaged in Kazakhstan’s tech scene.

Later, I had the privilege to meet Bauyrzhan Nauryzbaev, CEO of ABAI IT-VALLEY, and his young yet highly experienced team of developers, including Yerkebulan M. Their energy and vision show how regional hubs can play a critical role in shaping the IT future of Central Asia.

Astana: the rising heart of Central Asia’s IT

Walking through Astana this summer, I couldn’t help but admire how modern, vibrant, and efficient the city has become. As the Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, president of Kazakhstan often emphasizes, Kazakhstan is steadily positioning itself as the IT heart of Central Asia. Seeing it firsthand was truly motivating.

A personal highlight: football in Semey

Back in my hometown, I was lucky to attend a match of Elimai FC. The atmosphere was electric — the fans’ energy and passion for local football are beyond words. It reminded me how strong community spirit can be when people come together.

Overall, this summer reminded me of the importance of connecting global innovation with local talent and opportunities. Kazakhstan is on an exciting path, and I’m grateful to witness both the international and local sides of the tech journey.

If you’re also exploring opportunities in Central Asia’s tech ecosystem, I’d love to connect and exchange thoughts!
